40 SS

The Skater 40SS was originally designed for the new Super Cat class of 2000.  At the time, we were told by the promotors of offshore racing that the format would go back to the roots of offshore racing, “ROUGH WATER”.  This hull was designed to out-handle any 40’ Cat or Vee in the roughest seas. The 40SS has become the gold standard for rough water cats due to its outstanding rough water capability, mainly due to its great tunnel depth and wide planing sponsons.  The boat has a 40’ running surface and an 11’10” beam and can carry up to 600 gallons of fuel for truly long range cruising.
